Jaro Announces New Lead-Free Chip Resistors That Meet Future 2005 Requirements
|
Boca Raton, Florida -- June 15, 2000
ISO certified Jaro Components, Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of passive components and thermal systems, has just announced a new lead-free, chip resistor --just one month after the introduction of a new lead-free, high-frequency inductor. All of Jaro's lead-free products are designed to meet the upcoming 2005 lead-free requirement, as well as mandatory environmental protection standards that will soon require environmental-impact substances such as lead to be eliminated. For companies doing business in Europe, where the sale of lead-bearing electronic products will be restricted after January 1, 2004, this is a big plus. According to JARO spokesperson Dennis Eisen, "the elimination of lead from our resistors improves the heat resistance property for reflow. This allows higher melting points for the solder to significantly shrink the process window soldering."
These resistors are compatible with all soldering processes. Their resistance ranges from 1ohm to 10Mohm and is available in the following sizes: 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, 2010, 2512.
Tolerances are available at 1% or 5% with the following wattage ratings: 1/16W, 1/10W, 1/8W, 1/4W, 1/3W, 3/4W and 1 watt.
The RC series comes in EIA Standard E96 and E24 resistance values.
These components are ideal for hand held devices and all other resistor applications where size is important.
Pricing for the new lead-free chip resistors are $.007 each @ 50,000 pieces.
Delivery runs eight to ten weeks ARO and the product is packaged in 10K, 25K, and 50K piece reels.
